DISTANT PLACE

Blessed with abundant tourism resources, Pan'an is the main birthplace of four major water systems: the Qiantang River, the Oujiang River, the Lingjiang River and the Cao'e River. It also features the Baizhang Pond Scenic Area, Eighteen Whirlpools, Dapan Mountain Scenic Area, Yushan Ancient Tea Plantation, etc., with a 75.4-percent forest coverage, emitting refreshing air whose negative oxygen ions are over fifteen times higher than the World Health Organization standards.

Source of the Lingjiang River—the World's First Suspended Corridor in Pan'an

Let you soul soar higher than the limits of time amidst sublime mountains and rivers

At the source of the Lingjiang River in Pan'an which is 300 kilometers from Shanghai lies the world's first suspended glass corridor with a total length of 158 meters and a vertical height of 288 meters, as well as the highest glass bridge in East China. Walking on the glass bridge that rears high into the sky at the source of the Lingjiang River, you will find yourself walking in the air and on cloud nine. The location, beaming with elation and exhilaration, encompasses far beyond the glass bridge and the viewing corridor. There is also the largest wind power plant in the mountains in Zhejiang, with thirty-four 80-meter-high wind turbines, in which the "Big Windmill" has become a sizzling-hot spot in cyberspace for photo-shooting and posting.

The Land of Umpteen Mountains—Pan'an Qingmei Tip

Traversing the length and breadth of the peaks to see the world at your disposal

With an altitude of 1,314 meters (meaning one lifetime), Qingmei tip is the highest peak in Pan'an and the second highest peak in Zhejiang, crowned as the "land of umpteen mountains". The peak stands erect like a pyramid, aka the "zenith reaching to the sky". Mountain creeks diverge with the main peak as the center, murmuring into the Shifeng Creek, the Haoxi Creek, the Wenxi Creek, the Xixi Creek and the Jixi Creek and finally converging into the Wujiang River, the Cao'e River, the Oujiang River and the Lingjiang River, earning its name as a famous leisure and summer resort in Zhejiang Province.

The Wonders of the "Grand Canyon in Zhejiang Province"—Eighteen Whirlpools of the Jiaxi Creek

Winding and zigzagging paths leading you to discover the other side of a brave new world

Pan‘an Eighteen Whirlpools Scenic Area is currently a national 4A scenic spot, located in the northeast of Pan'an County which is 2.5 kilometers from Jianshan Town, where the intense orogenesis of the planet's distant past and innumerable centuries of flowing water have contributed to the spectacle of the "Grand Canyon in Zhejiang". Breathtakingly precipitous cliffs overhang the peaks against each other on both sides of the creek and pierce into the clouds, under which streams gurgle along the tortuous, narrow paths and turbulent currents wind up as countless plunging waterfalls, dangerous whirlpools and unfathomable ponds, among which the Eighteen Whirlpools are the best-known.

The Village in the Sky—Wushi Village

A dream that transcends millenniums to perch at a village dappled with sunlight

Reputed as the "village in the sky", Wushi Village boasts dwellings made of black volcanic stones that did not melt over the past millenniums, and even the roof tiles are black-stone-textured. The well-preserved village, built based on the ancient Chinese feng shui philosophy, is shaped like a swallow's nest when overlooking it and encircled by stretches upon stretches of terraced fields.
